As one of the first pilot institutions for the National Healthy School Initiative, Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University has consistently embedded the “health-first” philosophy throughout the entire educational process. The University has thoroughly implemented a series of requirements set forth by the Ministry of Education on students’ physical and mental well-being, taking the development of a healthy school as a key driver to fully advance the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and to steadily promote all aspects of the national pilot program.
The University has established a “three-in-one” education model integrating professional training, the holistic development of the five domains (moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education), and value cultivation. It regards physical fitness as a cornerstone of students’ all-round development, continuously improving the physical education curriculum system, enriching extracurricular sports activities, and fostering a vibrant health-oriented campus culture, thereby laying a solid foundation for students’ lifelong well-being.
Persistent efforts have yielded remarkable results. Guided by the enduring “health-first” philosophy, Zhongqiao students have achieved steady improvements in both physical fitness and athletic performance, with frequent outstanding accomplishments. Most recently, the University delegation secured the overall championship of the 2025 “Dream Cup” Shanghai University Sports League, ranking first in total team score. This achievement not only recognizes the determination and competitive spirit of Zhongqiao students, but also stands as a vivid testament to the University’s commitment to health-centered education and its effective implementation of holistic talent cultivation.
