On March 18, 2026, the first “Zhongqiao Bay” Empowerment Forum for Female College Students’ Employment and Entrepreneurship was successfully held at Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University. The event was guided by the Jinshan District Women’s Federation, the Jinshan District Employment Promotion Center, and the “Seagull Program” for Female College Students’ Career Development in Shanghai, and hosted by the university. Centered on the theme “Wisdom Converges in Zhongqiao Bay, Empowering Women to Create the Future,” the forum brought together resources from government, enterprises, and academia to support female students in employment and entrepreneurship, illuminate their aspirations, and strengthen their collective potential.

In his opening remarks, Zhu Fanxin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the university, emphasized that the institution has always attached great importance to the growth and development of female students, regarding employment and entrepreneurship as a key pillar of talent cultivation. He noted that the forum represents an important initiative to deepen industry–education integration and support women’s development, aiming to build a high-quality platform for communication, resource matching, and practical empowerment. He encouraged female students to stay grounded in their fields of study, pursue innovation, and boldly chase their dreams. Pan Shuhong, Vice Chairwoman and member of the Leading Party Members Group of the Jinshan District Women’s Federation, highly commended the achievements of “Zhongqiao Bay” in supporting female students’ employment and entrepreneurship. She described the event as a concrete step in transforming the initiative from “external driving force” to “internal motivation,” and encouraged students to enhance self-awareness and capabilities, expand outward, and strive upward in their development.

To provide sustained, professional, and targeted support for female students’ career development, the event officially established the “Zhongqiao Bay” Mentor Pool and held the first mentor appointment ceremony.

During the roundtable session, three guest speakers—Qian Yan, Gu Qiongqiong, and Ping Xinyu—engaged in in-depth discussions with two student representatives, He Yuntong and Zhu Yunyi. Topics included “the advantages and challenges faced by women in the workplace,” “how to acquire early-stage users,” “innovation and entrepreneurship in traditional industries,” and “how to inherit and promote traditional Chinese culture in entrepreneurial practices.”

The successful convening of the first “Zhongqiao Bay” Empowerment Forum has created a collaborative platform integrating government, enterprise, and academic resources to support the growth of female students. It not only broadened perspectives on internships and employment opportunities, but also stimulated enthusiasm and confidence in entrepreneurship by showcasing exemplary cases. The event marks a solid step forward in the university’s exploration of new models for cultivating female talent.
