Pooling Wisdom to Tackle Challenges and Empowering Through Research—School of Economics and Management Hosts Special meeting on Research Advancement

To accelerate innovative breakthroughs in scientific research and advance the integrated development of research and education, the School of Economics and Management convened a Special meeting on Research Work for Counselors in Building4 Room201, at 10:00 AM on April 16, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Yang Hui, Secretary of the School's Party Committee, with participation from Professor Zhang Guohua, Director of the University's Professorial Committee; Professor Fan Haiyan, Vice Dean for Research; Chen Lingping, Head of the Youth Research Fund Program; and all faculty counselors.

Professor Zhang Guohua kick started the proceedings by emphasizing that research capability is an indispensable competency for counselors in the new era. She advocated for the establishment of an AI + Ideological-Political Education research framework, urging counselors to leverage student affairs practices as research contexts and transform routine administrative tasks into scholarly achievements. Vice Dean Fan Haiyan highlighted the need to enhance counselors' professional literacy and innovative thinking through a three-stage advancement pathway—problem orientation, theoretical construction, and methodological innovation—to transition their roles from transactional administrators to expert scholars. Yang underscored the imperative to harness cutting-edge AItechnologies, calling on counselors to seize opportunities in technological innovation to elevate educational efficacy through research-driven initiatives.

Chen Lingping, leader of the Youth Research Fund project, then shared her practical experiencein integrating tourism management discipline development with research endeavors. Her 2024 Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Youth Project, titled Empathic Interaction Between 'Novel Qualitative Imagery' andTourist Perception in Urban Production Spaces, exemplifies phased achievements under the School's Young Faculty Research Ascendancy Plan.  

Rooted in the holistic ideological-political education framework, the meeting established a system integrating teaching, research, and education, reflecting the School's philosophy of advancing education through research and strengthening teams via innovation. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration platforms, the initiative aims to enhance counselors' research capabilities, empower young faculty development, and inject new momentum into cultivating high-leveltalent. Driven by the mission of building China into an education powerhouse, the School pledges to deepen reforms in the Three-Wide Education model (all-staff, whole-process, and holistic education), forging new chapters innurturing a generation capable of advancing national rejuvenation.
