In 2023, Zhongqiao University jointly established the Institute of International Education Research and the Sino-German Vocational Education Teacher Training Center with the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW), the largest applied technology university in Germany. In order to further enhance the international competence of faculty and have a better understanding of the experience and achievements of Germany's dual vocational education system, and promote the construction of a vocational education system with Chinese characteristics. On May 24th, the 2024 CAS Sino-German Vocational Education Teacher Training Advanced Class held the opening ceremony in the conference room 108 of the Graphic and Information Building. Vice President Feng Xiao of Zhongqiao University, Chinesisch-Deutsche Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften（CDHAW） and Vocational Education College of Tongji University in Shanghai, Ma Yimin, and all the teachers participated in the training attended the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Vice President Feng Xiao warmly welcomed all the teachers and encouraged them to cherish this training opportunity. He urged them to continuously adapt to the new trends and requirements of vocational education internationalization, strengthen their international thinking and cognitive abilities, enhance their international teaching capabilities, and better cultivate technical and skilled talents with an international perspective, which will inject new vitality into the nationalization and high-quality development of university education.
Vice President Feng Xiao delivered the first lecture on "Innovation Value Chain and Division of Labor and Specialization in Education, the Background and System Structure of the German Modern Higher Education System, and the Dual System of the DHBW" to build a comprehensive and advanced knowledge system for teachers and lay a solid theoretical foundation for future training in Germany. He mentioned that as the first state dual system university in Germany, the DHBW focuses on vocational orientation and cooperative research and development, emphasizing the cultivation of high-level talent cultivation and the integration with applied disciplines and professional systems. The talent cultivation model design and practical logic of the German dual system universities, which are "ability-oriented, theory-practice integrated, and dual learning", have positive value for the creation of a vocational undergraduate talent cultivation model with Chinese characteristics.
Through learning, the participating teachers have expressed that systematic learning can enhance their international literacy and the level of international education, continuously strengthen the foundation of education, and create more fruitful achievements in international exchanges in vocational education.
Zhongqiao University focuses on the strategies of international perspective, faculty enhancement, industry-education integration, and modern governance. It attaches great importance to internationalization. The beginning of this CAS Sino-German Vocational Education Teacher Training Advanced Class is not only a practical requirement to speed up the internationalization of university and promote high-quality development, but also an important measure to enhance the international thinking and educational teaching ability of all teaching staff. Zhongqiao University will further promote the new development of the dual-system talent cultivation mode, promote the reform and innovation of international teaching concepts and methods, and actively help the prosperity and development of vocational education internationalization.
