On the morning of May 7th, Mr. Trevor Schwenke, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of World Skills Competition in Australia, visited Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University. Vice President Liu Shuyun welcomed the Australian guests in the Conference Room 504 and attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Liu Shuyun, on behalf of Zhongqiao University, warmly welcomed the visit of Chairman Trevor Schwenke. She gave a detailed introduction to the Zhongqiao University, showcasing achievements in international cooperation in recent years. It was hoped that both parties will seize this meeting as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and communication in deepening talent cultivation, optimizing faulty construction, refining competition skills and establishing a further level of cooperation. Through close collaboration with World Skills Competition organization, Zhongqiao looked forward to providing more platforms for students to participate in international skills competitions, cultivating practical skills and international perspectives as well as teamwork spirit.
Chairman Schwenke highly praised our strategy and innovative approach to international education. He expressed his willingness to assist communication between Zhongqiao University and international organizations as well as universities in Austrlia, promoting further cooperation between Zhongqiao and the Australian vocational education field.
Representatives from Zhongqiao had discussions and interactions on topics such as the introduction of resources for Australian vocational education projects, faculty training for World Skills Competition as well as management and motivation of participants in the World Skills Competition, in order to learn from educational concepts and teaching methods of other international universities’.
Wu Youzhi, Dean of the School of Food and Pharmacy, Zhou Xiaoyan, Dean of the School of Culinary and Hotel Management, Gu Lihua, Vice Dean of the School of Nursing and Health, Yang Fenfei, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, and Lu Lantao, Dean Assistant of the School of Arts attended the meeting. After discussion, they accompanied Mr. Trevor Schwenke to visit the practical training sites and teaching facilities on campus.
