On the morning of December 5th, Professor Huo Jiazhen, President of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University (SHZQU) met Professor Gerhard Jaeger, Rector of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Lörrach of Germany on the campus of SHZQU. Professor Jerome Bon, former Dean of the European Business School, Professor Feng Xiao, SHZQU’s Vice President, joined the meeting. Administrators from various schools and departments of SHZQU also attended the meeting, among them are Ms. Yan Hui, Dean of the School of International Education, Professor Zhang Bingda, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Professor Li Mei, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Ms. Wang Ling，Director of International Exchange Department and Dr. Feng Yuqiang, Vice-dean of the School of International Education.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Huo welcomed the arrival of the two professors. And Professor Jaeger spoke highly of the short-term projects already in place. The meeting participants had in-depth discussions on future cooperation methods and development directions.
Regarding the student exchange programs between the two Universities, the two parties fully exchanged views, and reached a preliminary decision that in short-term exchange programs for business and information technology majors with a duration of two weeks or three months, credits transfer shall be acceptable for both universities. The one-year study program shall adopt a 3+1 format and students can obtain dual bachelor degrees after graduation. German students can also come to SHZQU for a one-year professional course study and internships in local German enterprises.
In addition, both sides also proposed a mobile classroom joint teaching model for business majors, which will mix Chinese and German teachers and students. Half of the time will be spent studying in Zhongqiao and half in DHBW. This joint teaching model will bring better interactivity and more opportunities for communication and mutual learning.
Finally, both sides discussed the relevant content of faculty training and exchange. Firstly, Zhongqiao and DHBW can send teachers to each other's schools for course teaching and joint research; Secondly, in the future, both parties will regularly hold seminars or workshops or academic dialogues targeting specific majors to deepen their understanding and consolidate their cooperation. The current faculty training scheme for vocational universities in China is that faculty members will spend two weeks at the CAS（Center of Advanced Study）in Tongji University and the remaining two weeks at DHBW. This will lay a solid foundation for future faculty training for both universities.
At the end of the meeting, President Huo once again expressed his gratitude for the arrival of the two professors. Professor Jaeger on the other hand said he very much looks forward to more opportunities for cooperation between the two sides in the future. Both sides exchanged gifts and took a group souvenir photo.
