On May 30, 2023, at 1:00 PM US West Coast Time, Dean Yan Hui of the School of International Education and teachers from the School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University were invited to visit California state polytechnic university, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona). Lisa Xue, Dean of the School of Global Education Exchange, warmly welcomed the visit of the Chinese delegation and gave great enthusiasm to the cooperation between the two sides.
Yan Hui, Dean of the School of International Education of our University, presented the recent development achievements and future plans of Zhongqiao. Our university has obtained the ACQUIN accreditation, and the cooperation footprint has spread across the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Spain, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand and other countries. Some projects such as cooperation projects with universities in France, Australia, Indonesia and other countries have been in the follow-up negotiations, and the achievements and measures of the university have won great praise from the Cal Poly.
Subsequently, Jim Hays, instructor and course coordinator of the School of Global Education, said that Cal Poly's English language teaching focuses on students' use of language and understanding of culture, and the language system based on CEA certification can tailor English learning courses and language tutoring partners for students.Students just have to pass the school curriculum and internal exams can be exempted from TOEFL and IELTS, and obtain the corresponding master's degree. The teachers are all professors or experts in the industry. During the study period, students can attend classes with local students and complete their graduation projects, and there is a professional team to provide academic guidance and support services. Both parties have shown great interest in the partnership and the project will start this year.
