From May 31 to June 3, the 2024 International Grass Tug-of-War Open and the First National Grass Tug-of-War Championships was held in Longyou County, Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province. This event, organized by the Chinese Tug-of-War Association (CTWA) and hosted by the People's Government of Longyou County and the Sports Administration of Quzhou Municipality, attracted 32 tug-of-war teams and 340 athletes from around the world. It was the largest national-level competition this year in terms of participating countries, regions, teams, and the number of athletes. All traditional strong teams in the national tug-of-war all participated, making the competition extremely fierce, with each team showcasing skills and professional quality.
After intense competition, the Team of Zhongqiao stood out in the group stage with outstanding team coordination and indomitable perseverance. In the finals, they faced their rival, the Zhejiang Police College tug-of-war team. Ultimately, relying on comprehensive tactics, seamless cooperation, and tenacious willpower, they won the national college group mixed 580KG championship with a score of 2:0.
Zhongqiao University has placed great emphasis on sports education and the all-around development of students, highlighting humanistic care and scientific development. This championship not only reflects the hard work and teamwork of all members of the tug-of-war team but also showcases the university's dedication to sports education. The outstanding performance of the tug-of-war team has demonstrated the enthusiastic spirit and relentless determination of Zhongqiao youth.
