New Year's Greetings for 2024
Dear teachers, students, alumni, and friends:
2024 is approaching. On behalf of the school, we extend New Year's greetings to all teachers, students, staff, retired faculty, alumni both at home and abroad, and friends from all walks of life who have long cared for and supported the development of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University.
In 2023, it will be the 30th anniversary of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University. The school leadership team leads the entire members to unite and work hard. All of us move forward with courage and determination. We focus on International vision, faculty enhancement, industry-education integration, and modern governance. Zhongqiao actively connect with national and Shanghai's economic and social development strategies, actively match with the policies of Shanghai's Jinshan District. We optimize the content of disciplines and majors, deepen the level of service capability, and refine the talent cultivation model.
Looking back at the past year, we officially accredited by ACQUIN(The Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute) which is an international organization dedicated to assessing the quality of higher education. We established the School of International Education. We also formed the Sino-German Vocational Education Teacher Training Center, and obtained the qualification to recruit and train international students. The number of teachers with senior professional titles in the entire school increased by 77%, the number of teachers with doctoral degrees increased by 47%, and the number of teachers with intermediate or higher technical positions increased by 80%. We had one teacher who entered the Master Teacher Cultivation program of the Ministry of Education. We also had one teacher who was awarded the National Teaching Master. One major group of our school was awarded the first-class of municipal level, and three teachers were awarded the Talent Recruitment Program of municipal level. The school's Equipment industry of Industry-Education Integration has been awarded administrative approval by the Ministry of Education. The school's Jinshan District Industry-Education Alliance, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Base, and Vocational Education Modern Industry College have become municipal construction units. The employment rate of the 2023 graduates remains above 98%, with a 100% employment rate for undergraduate graduates. This year, Zhongqiao University was awarded the China Arts and Crafts Master Inheritance and Innovation Base. We obtained the third batch of model party branches of universities by the Ministry of Education. And 4 teachers from the school were awarded a series of awards by the Shanghai Education Union and Women's Work Committee. 112 students won 69 awards in various national skill competitions. The student teams representing the school in national competitions won one gold medal and one silver medal in events such as Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, Dragon Boat, and Tug of War.
Entering a new era, standing at a new starting point. In 2023, Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University has taken a solid step in exploring the path of high-quality development of vocational education, and has achieved results. This is the result of the unity and hard work of all teachers and students. As the eve of 2024 approaches, let us be filled with anticipation and hope, and with firm belief, unite and strive to achieve the beautiful vision of Zhongqiao.
