New Year Message from the Management
2023 is coming. On this special occasion, we would like to give our New Year's greetings and best wishes, and above all, sincere thanks to our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends from all walks of life who have long cared for and supported the development of Zhongqiao University.
2022 opened a new chapter for Zhongqiao. In this year, we conceived, and then gave birth to a new strategy: modern governance, international vision, faculty enhancement and industry-education integration. No less important is that we say it and we mean it.
We optimized the governance structure by resolutely instituting a new management system. As a result, Zhongqiao is now more proactive at the university level and more active at the college level. Modern governance is now taking root on the campus.
We broadened our international vision by earnestly pursing internationalization. We launched our ACQUIN accreditation bid, pushed collaborations with sister institutions in Germany, Korea and New Zealand, sent students to Germany and Korea for further studies, and inaugurated the International Advisory Committee. Internationalization is now taking shape on the campus.
We enhanced faculty by rigorous training and aggressive recruiting. The introduction of 32 high-level talents into Zhongqiao in 2022 bettered our existing faculty structure, helped a lot in making our university the first and only undergraduate vocational institution of higher education in Shanghai. A strong faculty is now emerging on the campus.
We expanded industry-education integration by vigorously boosting collaboration with industries. Our university was selected as a first among the Municipal Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Bases and New Technician Colleges in Shanghai. A total of 191 enterprises have already signed collaboration agreements with us. Industry-education integration is now fruiting on the campus.
Given what we did, it is perhaps no surprising that 2022 has been a year of success and achievements. In 2022, our faculty and staff were awarded with 21 scientific research projects above the municipal level, our students won 718 awards in various competitions, and last but not least, we are now one step closer to joining ACQUIN which will help us stand out from our peers.
We know all these did not come with ease. We know that all these were done through fortitude and sacrifices. We know that all these were accomplished by overcoming the tremendous difficulties at a time when Cov-19 ran wild and disruptions and lock-downs were a part of our daily life.
We have done a lot and yet much more remains to be done. We have a vision and yet we need to put that into a reality, not by visionaries alone, but mainly by collective hardworking. The arrival of 2023 gives us a new opportunity to continue our undertaking. Hand in hand, we walked through the difficulties and delivered in 2022; by pooling our strength together, we are set to deliver more in 2023!
