At 10 a.m. on August 31, Shanghai Zhongqiao vocational and Technical University and Taiwan Datong University held a cooperation signing ceremony in the form of remote video conference. At the signing meeting, Liu Shuyun, Vice President, and Wu Zhifu, Vice President of Datong University, introduced the history, professional characteristics, advantages in running schools, exchanges and cooperation of their respective universities, demonstrated the regional advantages and characteristics of the two universities, and made prospects for mutual visits, student joint training, etc. Datong University, formerly known as Datong Industrial College, was founded in 1956 by Lin Shangzhi, Chairman of Xiezhi Trading House, with the aim of cultivating excellent industrial talents. In 1999, it was renamed as Datong University. It is a well-known private university in Taiwan with the educational goal of "integration of construction and education, research and development, honesty and thrift, and industry serving the country". There are fifteen departments in the school, which are respectively the School of Engineering, the School of Electrical Engineering and Information, the School of Management and the School of Design. There are twelve bachelor's classes, eleven master's classes, eight in-service master's classes and nine doctoral classes.


Huo Jiazhen, the headmaster, expressed the hope that the two schools would deepen exchanges and cooperation, give full play to their own characteristics and resource advantages, explore more possibilities in student exchanges, teachers' scientific research, cooperative education and other aspects, and establish a further partnership. It is expected that the delegation from Taiwan's Datong University and others will come to the University for a visit and more in-depth cooperation discussion after the epidemic situation improves.
